Lingua Ecclesiae is the first intensive summer Latin course specifically designed for ecclesiastics.
Students will be hosted at the Casa per ferie Mater Mundi, run by the Augustinian Sisters of Divine Love. Pedagogical activities are accompanied by the daily celebration of the Liturgy.
To favor the students’ rapid and solid learning, all courses are conducted directly in Latin, just like all other daily activities: Latin is the only language of communication within the residence throughout the entire month of stay.

At the end of each course, students who so desire have the opportunity to take a small test, the successful completion of which will allow them to attain a certificate granted jointly by the Italian Institute for Classical Studies and the Pontificium Institutum Altioris Latinitatis of the Pontifical Salesian University.
Those who successfully complete all two courses will obtain a total of 25 ECTS.
These ECTS are automatically recognized at the Pontificium Institutum Altioris Latinitatis of the Pontifical Salesian University, or may be convalidated at other universities, according to the discretion of each Athenaeum.
Students will receive ECTS credit for each course as follows:
LATIN LANGUAGE: 20 ECTS
LATINITAS CANONICA: 5 ECTS
LATINITAS LITURGICA: 5 ECTS
LATINITAS PATRISTICA: 5 ECTS
An application for registration and the first payment installment must be presented by June, 30 August, 20.
The standard cost of the course amounts to 1990 €. Payments are allowed in four installments.
Those who wish to be accomodated in a single bedroom (rather than in a standard room) may send a request and pay an additional charge of € 360 for the whole month (€ 12 per day).
In order to guarantee social distance, for the 2022 edition, all students will be accomodated in single bedroom at the same price of the standard room.
